Creating a Dreamy and Whimsical Kids' Room

As a parent, it's your job to make sure that your children have a safe and comfortable environment in which to grow. So what do you do if you don't have the money or space for a regular-sized bedroom? You opt for something different!

Walls

You can also use paint that is washable, which means you don’t need to worry about getting it on your child’s clothing. Wallpaper and murals are great for creating a large-scale patterned statement in the room. A mural will be one of the focal points of the room, so choose something that energizes and inspires your child!

Beds

Most beds can be converted into a desk or sit-down surface, so make sure you have enough space for your child's new workspace. If the bed is not sturdy and safe, it's not worth buying. Think about how the rest of the room will look before you buy a bed that may clash with everything else. Try to get one that isn't too high off the ground, the last thing you want is for your child to fall off at night!

Bedside Tables and Lights

The bedside tables should be sturdy enough to last through years of roughhousing, yet simple enough that your child can manage them on their own. When choosing lamps for a kids’ room, think about how you want the light to look and where it will be positioned in relation to their cozy reading nook.

Storage

Storage is important in kids' rooms. It's not just a place to store their toys, but also books and toys that they use for playing or learning. Shelves, cabinets, and dressers are great storage options. They can be hidden away or out in the open, depending on the aesthetic you're going for. Storage doesn't need to be functional only, it can also be decorative if that fits your style!

Wall Decorations

When it comes to wall decorations, you have a lot of options. For example, if you want to take advantage of the space on your walls that isn't taken up by windows or doors, try using wall decals or stickers. These are great for adding some color and flair to a room without taking up too much space.
